In October 2009 Spike Jonze’s feature film rendition of Maurice Sendak’s classic story Where The Wild Things Are will hit movie theaters worldwide.
The film represents years of work from hundreds of different artists, writers, photographers, musicians, actors, and creators of all degrees.
This place [we love you so] has been established to help shed some light on many of the small influences that have converged to make this massive project a reality.

I'm making an article about this cause the fun and the sensation of searching for spots on sunday afternoons is just amazing. Even at locations like these you can find them, but that's not the the point on these sites, it's the feeling you get. It's like you travel back into time! This old industrial site used to be a very large steel industry in Belgium and used to be a state of the art modern construction. Fascinating if you're in the same business, even normal people who don't even realise what this is are amazed by the size of it !

My friend had a doctor's appointment two and a half hours away in Raleigh, so a few of us went with him to skate. We ended up just messing around at an indoor park for a while, then upon not being able to decide on a street spot to skate, went to an under-construction concrete park. Nothing productive, but it was a fun trip.

As some of you may know, I quit working for Streetcorner (City) shortly after the release of their latest video, "WHAT THE F*CK IS A BACHINSKY" (of which I filmed only a small fraction).
The reason for my decision to quit does not stem from a conflict of any kind, and their is continued mutual respect, understanding, and friendship between myself and everyone at Streetcorner.
I have simply chosen to walk a more independent route, to work for myself, and produce my own videos again like back in the good ol' days., and from now on if there is going to be a company involved, I will be working WITH the company rather the FOR the company.
The first of my projects will be an underground video I will produce and edit and partially film, but this video will be MOSTLY filmed by YOU!

Well, my video's finally finished. Well, almost. I just have to film one more person's intro for their part, make the image for the DVD disc, and do a Scene Selection menu.
So, barring any unforeseen technical difficulties, it'll be complete within a week. I can't wait to put this thing behind me. I suppose making some money would be also be a plus...

I'm back home for the week, so I've got the internet... This is a project I did for school. It turned out better than I had imagined it would, my expectations obviously not being very high. But, I had never really done anything like that before. I'm kicking myself in the face for not burning a skateboarding montage I made to a disc and bringing it with me, but I should have the internet at my apartment in about a week anyway, if the cable guy would be kind enough to actually show up...

Sorry, that happened to you, buddy.
I'll be applying for film school in a couple days. And if I'm accepted, I'll be moving to a bigger, better city and you'll have heard the last of my whining about this one. And I'm sure you've heard enough of that, so wish me bon chance!

Recent Footage
My friend Brad finally skated with me for the first time in months. He's the kid at the beginning. I'm not too happy with the way I filmed some of the lines...
Alright, here we go. All aboard the technical-difficulties train! I’m sure we’re going to run into countless problems during this process, but let’s see how it goes. I’ve uploaded every clip from Pat Stiener’s part from Static III; the DV skate clips, 16mm drama shots and, for the brave, I even uploaded the HD clips used for his roller-door intro. All of this media amounts to nearly 4 Gigs of footage. That is some serious download time right there. So what I did is uploaded 6 separate folders so that the footage is split up and not everybody will be downloading the same file at the same time….hopefully.
So, simply click on each of these links to download the media. I suggest going one at a time because they’re each massive folders that’ll take a while to download.
You can purchase Pat’s White Flight song “Now” off of the itunes site, or you can buy the CD off of Amazon. Hook the band up, they’re amazing. Or mix it up with a new song of your own.
As people begin to finish remixes I’ll have you send them to me to host on the Theories site or you can link me to your edit posted on Youtube, etc. I’d prefer that they were hosted exclusively on Theories, but I can’t really control that now, can I? Once I’ve got enough, I’ll choose the best ones and post them all together and we’ll read the comments to see who’s gathers the most fans.
Good luck everybody, this is going to be an interesting ride.

First is my friend Scott's Part, which hardly reflects how good he is. His filming was cut short due to his moving away and joining the army, for reasons I don't quite understand. So I went ahead and edited his part since there's not the possibility of getting any more footage. Some of the tricks are a lot harder than they seem for how sketchy the spots are. After that is an introduction to what will someday be a montage. Meanwhile, this town is killing me. The 'skate scene' sucks. Nobody who's supposed to be in my video gets along with one another, some are too busy feeding their drug habits to ever skate, etc. Producing a decent skateboarding video 'round these parts is not an easy task.

06 shop and pop magazine both went down by declaring bankrupt
Pop magazine had some financial problems when the main advertiser stopped the cooperation.
they are going to make a new mag together with SCS mag
I don't exactly know what happened to the 06 shop, people told me the shop owner didn't want to proceed cause of some bad times, new cheaper shops etc etc
Nothing very exciting... "

- Could you please introduce yourself ?
I am 23. I am interested in skateboarding and painting.
- What is a typical day for you ? How do you usually begin your day ?
I start by not eating breakfast and leaving the house very soon after i wake up. I either go to my studio to paint, or i go to meet Ches or Ben to film.
- Can you introduce yourself ? How did you come to the drawing and
skateboard ?
Bonjour, mon nom est Stefan Marx et j'habite dans Hambourg Allemane.
I tried to learn the french language in school but i failed.
Since i can think i love to draw. Skateboarding surrounded since a
really long time now, more or less, i cannot name myself an active
skater anymore but it's inspiring since day one.
- How did you make links between skateboarding and drawing ?
I don't know. I started with drawing earlier than with skateboarding.
Skateboarding and drawing existed in my early years really parallel,
but one interesting part was the skateboard graphic, this was a thing
for your eyes, two dimensional. Skateboarding itself is really two
dimensional in a big part, in the part of documentation. Skateboard
graphics are expression, telling somebody something without words,
only with images. You can speak with it. Strong images are fantastic,
that was really fascinating me. The same with T-shirt graphics.
In this part i link skateboarding and drawing, drawing skateboard
graphics.
Also i still get really inspired by skateboarding, even when i'm not
skateing that much anymore.

search and explore the area !
looking for spots is the best part, you're really motivated while driving around industrial area's with your eyes wide open.
every stair, rail, sidewalk, bump, waved concrete or anything else matters. Driving back home from work or school taking a different route and hope you're gonna find something.
it's one of the greatest things about skateboarding, looking for the unknown. We, skaters, have a different kind of view. an important and artistic one.
from a 100m down low it looked like a huge ditch but when we got up there it was all filled up and became a giant nature box.
it looks like copper thiefs also visited this site. and apparently it's been there for already 4 years during to google earth's photos.
don't steal or break shit, cause skaters who do, are fucking up the sport i love ! respect the spot and it will respect you.
and keep in mind there's always a chance you're not alone... at least we weren't !

I just got out of the mental hospital yesterday.
It was fun at first, but the 22 days I was in there was a bit torturous. I didn't do anything to get put in there. I was wrongfully arrested. But apparently, I'm bipolar. I'm much too tired to write about the experience right now, as it's been a long day, but am certainly going to in the near future.
I made this motion graphic today, and digitized the eyeball animation (which I made sitting there bored out of my mind in the 'nuthouse')... The footage is from long ago. 'Came up with the name Glitter Films a while back for my nonexistent production company. I never planned on keeping the title "SDM Productions", which I'd been using for years. It was just a placeholder until I thought of a name. I finally thought of one, after more years than I care to even think of...

the guy below already has a nice amount of hospital visits on his name, i remember last year he got himself in the hospital after he slipped out on his flip bs tail and the iron cooping from the fucked up manny box cut into his leg for 10cm long straight to the bone. his leg always had blood on it since then. he's also my homie and today we felt like we needed to skate again cause it already have been a while. Sunday afternoon, like usually.. getting sober again and trying to find out what your gonna do for the rest of the day. while the whole city was unskateable by the fucked up weather of the last few days we drove to a local wooden spot who was pretty dry, fooled again. he slipped out and his board slammed on his leg and cut open again and a few hours later stive tried the same spot and slipped out and landed on his side and got a dislocated wrist.
